Brian Jones Joins the Black Rock Group
Alexandria, VA – The Black Rock Group announced today that nationally respected public affairs and communications strategist Brian Jones has joined the firm as a Partner. Jones has a proven track record of creating and managing winning public affairs and public relations campaigns for Fortune 100 companies, national associations and political candidates. He joins Black Rock after working as a Managing Director for Mercury Public Affairs, heading their Strategic Communications Practice in Washington, D.C. and running their California operation in Sacramento.

Prior to Mercury, Jones served as the Communications Director for Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign and before that worked as the Communications Director at the Republican National Committee. In 2004, Jones was a part of President Bush’s historic re-election effort, where he worked as a Senior Communications Advisor, helping to run the campaign’s rapid response and regional media operation while also serving as a spokesperson. Before coming on board the Bush-Cheney campaign, Jones worked for Mercury Public Affairs in New York City as the firm’s Vice President for Polling and Advertising.

Jones, who earned his Master’s Degree from the University of Washington in Seattle and undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, is in the process of relocating his family from California to their home in Alexandria, VA.
